Meet the hibooks blog writers
Steve is from the UK and has lived in London, Bulgaria, and Berlin. He studied Christian theology at King’s College London and spent several years working in publishing. His articles, books reviews, interviews, and essays have been published in a range of digital and print magazines. In 2012, he was shortlisted for the Brighton Fringe Festival Writers Prize. His obsession with books and writing led him to start his own ‘BookTube’ channel on YouTube (to which you should probably subscribe). You can find him talking nonsense on Twitter @StPartridge. He looks after the hibooks blog and hosts The HiBooks Podcast. He was once told his spirit guide was a Native American chief (aren’t they always Native American chiefs?)
Kim was born and raised in Oklahoma City, and studied anthropology at the University of Oklahoma. Once she got tired of dodging twisters and the Oklahoma heat, she moved to Kyoto where she could eat, travel, and write to her heart’s content (of which she wrote about – mostly in that order). Since then, she’s called Washington State her home and is now currently based in Berlin.
She is a regular contributor on the blog and also cohosts the Hibooks podcast with Steve. She’s always up for recommendations for a comic story, as one of her favorite things to do is listen to funny audiobook memoirs while she bakes tiny cupcakes.
Karin is born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was a communications major and has been communicating companies’ stories via web, print and the social medias ever since. Her creative writing projects include a full length movie, a mommy blog, dozens of stage productions, a novelette and numerous Facebook rants that the occasional person enjoys. Her favorite listens are: 2 Dope Queens Podcast, Dear Sugar podcast, Trevor Noah’s autobiography Born a Crime and when she’s in the mood for a good cry, Gustave Flaubert’s classic Madame Bovary. She is a guru of the following subjects (in a very particular order): Communication, Hanson, Graphic Design, Feigning Wine Knowledge, Story Composition and Calligraphy.
